Avyaan POV
The acrid smell of burnt fabric filled the air, mingling with the scent of expensive cologne that clung to the room like a suffocating shroud.
Avyaan stared at the charred remains of the bed, his eyes blazing with a dangerous fury. He had underestimated her. This wasn't a mere act of defiance; it was a declaration of war.
Ishika, her heart pounding in her chest, stood a few feet away, her gaze unwavering. The flames, though extinguished, still seemed to dance in her eyes. She had never imagined herself capable of such a drastic act, but fear had ignited a fire within her, a fierce determination to survive.
"You... you set the bed on fire?"
Avyaan finally managed to croak out, his voice rough with disbelief.
Ishika smirked, a defiant glint in her eyes. "Indeed, Mr. Suryavanshi. A small taste of what's to come."
He lunged for the fire extinguisher, his movements surprisingly swift despite the shock. The hiss of the extinguisher broke the tense silence, the white foam blanketing the charred remains of the bed like a shroud.
"You're playing a dangerous game, Ishika," Avyaan growled, his voice a low, menacing rumble. "This isn't a joke."
"Oh, I know it's not," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But neither is this marriage. You forced me into this, remember? This is my way of reminding you that I'm not your obedient wife. I'm a caged bird, and I'll do everything in my power to break free."
Avyaan's face hardened. "You think you can intimidate me? You think you can fight me?"
"I don't need to fight you," Ishika retorted, her voice rising. "I just need to survive. And I will."
She turned and walked towards the door, her back ramrod straight. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to sleep. In the other room."
With long stride Avyaan move close to Ishika and pull her and she bump to his chest, he steady her by circling his hand around her waist.
I can feel her berthed breath the close proximity is igniting a dieing flame. She is looking mine with only a pinch of vermillion and a thread of black beads tieing her forever and even after life and something in me shift for her i tighten my hold on her waist.
"Kya kr rahe hai aap Avyaan chodiye mujhe", and she tried to free herself.
Rani Sa hai aap aur aaj humari shaadi ki pehli raat hai so if you like it or not you have to stay here.
But where will we going to sleep, on this burned bed?
Yeh toh aapko aag lagane se pehle sochna chahiye tha, meri pyaari patni.
What is this pyaari patni and all just leave me she tries to got out of my hold but her small frame didn't match up my strong hold and i smirk and she stop her struggle and tilt her head and our eyes get locked. This honey brown eyes is a mirror of her soul once you get drown in it there is a whole new Ishika you will get to witness and I'm glad that only I'm the one who has a privilege to connect with her soul.
But he knew he had underestimated her. This was not going to be easy. This woman, with her fiery spirit and defiant gaze, was a force to be reckoned with. He had expected an obedient wife, a docile bird content in her gilded cage. Instead, he had awakened a phoenix, and he knew, with a chilling certainty, that this was only the beginning.
Before Ishika can found refuge in the guest room as per her plan, Avyaan carry her in his arms and put her on the plush sofa and cover her in a comforter which is offering little solace to Ishika unknowingly and then he is gone
The fire had left her trembling, not just from the adrenaline, but from the fear of the unknown. What would Avyaan do next? Would he punish her? Would he try to break her spirit?
Sleep eluded her. Every rustle of the wind outside, every creak of the old house, sent shivers down her spine. She pictured Avyaan's face, his eyes burning with a dangerous intensity. He was a predator, and she was his prey.
She remembered her brother's words: "If he tries to do anything, I will kick his ass." His words offered a small measure of comfort, a lifeline in the sea of fear that was engulfing her.
But what if her brother couldn't protect her? What if Avyaan proved to be more powerful than she imagined?
Ishika clutched the pillow tightly, burying her face in it. Tears welled up in her eyes, hot and stinging. This was not the life she had envisioned. This was a nightmare, a gilded cage where she was trapped, a prisoner of her own fate.
Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the house. Ishika jumped, her heart pounding. She held her breath, listening intently. Silence followed, broken only by the rhythmic ticking of the grandfather clock in the hallway. Was it just the wind? Or was it something else?
Fear, cold and clammy, gripped her. She knew, with a certainty that chilled her to the bone, that this was far from over. The game had just begun.
The sudden weight beside her made Ishika gasp, her heart leaping into her throat. Avyaan. He was lying beside her on the sofa, his arm draped casually over her waist. The proximity, the warmth radiating from his body, sent shivers down her spine, but not the pleasant kind.
"Sleep," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "We have a long day tomorrow."
Ishika remained frozen, her eyes wide with apprehension. "What... what about the bed?" she stammered, her voice barely audible.
"It's not fit for sleeping," he said dismissively, his gaze fixed on the ceiling. "Besides," he added, a hint of amusement in his voice, "I prefer this arrangement."
Ishika's breath hitched. This was not what she had expected. She had braced herself for a confrontation, for a punishment. Instead, he was lying beside her, his presence a suffocating weight.
She tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but his hold tightened. "Don't even think about it," he warned, his voice a low growl. "You're staying here."
Ishika felt a surge of panic. Trapped. This was worse than she had imagined.
